2) Does it have to be in a light (sun) place or is a dark attic sufficient?

3) Is it easier to trim leaf before or after it's dry?

1. I don't know how much it "helps"to hang upside down, but it's hung to keep the trichomes from being damaged and to allow proper airflow to all sides of the buds, which helps in mold prevention. And hanging upside down is the easiest way to do it, unless you build a drying rack...

2. A dry DARK place is best, always dry in the dark...

3. It's much easier to trim before drying in my opinion, waiting until it's dry will cause you to handle the buds and break off the trics, just use care when handling the buds at any time, latex gloves are a good idea and any local hardware store carries trimming scissors, long thin blades so you disturb the flower itself as little as possible...
