Lighting Question

Hello everyone, I have a question that most of the experienced people could probably help me with. I was reading the growing guide that is on this website and it talks about fluorescent lighting as a growing method. I happen to have 2 big long fluorescent lights that came from an old school. Would these work or is fluorescent just not recommended at all?

How long are they, how old are they? New bulbs are really cheap. Fluorescents work, but you will need more than two.

Oh the actual fluoro system is old but the bulbs are new. I got 2 school house long ones that use 2 of those tubed kinds in each one. Total of 4 lights but not sure on the wattage because I have yet to go get them. My neighbor has them so they will be free, havn't been over there yet though.

You can use flourescent lights to grow MJ. To veg them flourescents work great. For flowering you need a minimum of 3,000 lumens of light per square foot in your grow space.
