please help!!!

i started grow from seeds but for some reason when my plants grow the first 2 leafs they start to turn brown then yellow then die can anyone help me with this im using the right soil for seeds but have know idea why this is happening my light is far from them so that cant be the problem and also is there anyway to tell if there male or female?with out growing them abit and doing 12 on 12 off?thanks

Dont use the seed starter soil it burns young plants from my exp.

hi ok thank you hey just a question if i have 25 plants i start from seed whats the chances of having all males? or will there be more females then males?

whered u get the seeds? are they bag seed or did u order them? there is real know telling how many will be females until u grow them and then flower them. when they are mature enough u can top them and take the tops for clones and flower those before u flower the other plants that will tell u which ones are males or females well thats haow i tell im sure u will get better feed back on this with more knowledge good luck peace
