germination

i`ve got a few beans germing as we speak. i`m trying out this "sponge type" material in a plastic sealed bag, placed on top of my lap-top power pack. they`ve been there for 2 days now and only one has cracked and shown a tap root. my question being, what is the best temp to keep these beans, enclosed in the bag at?
i`m wondering if i should just place them in some h20, that`s what i usually do, but i wanted to test this new "sponge material" out:confused: , should i stick it out, for how long?

The warmer the better I think is how it works. Mine were at about 80 F and I had 100 % germination rate. Dont know anything about the sponge method so cant really help with that.

i had mine in some moist paper towels in a plastic baggie, threw it in with my socks, and 2 days later, 5 seeds were in new homes:)
