I've been looking at this stuff lately. Here's what they have to say about it :

Dr. Hornby's Piranha Beneficial Fungi is the perfect companion product to Dr. Hornby's Voodoo Juice. Dr. Hornby's Voodoo Juice colonises the root zone with beneficial bacteria, while Dr. Hornby's Piranha colonises the root zone with 26 beneficial fungi. These fungi are 8 species of trichodermia and 18 species endo and ecto mycorrhizal. Trichodermia are very aggressive colonisers that enhance root mass, and provide excellent control from root rot, pythium and pytophethoria. Dr. Hornby's Piranha Beneficial Fungi is an effective foliar spray against fungi that attack plant foliage (ie. Pythium spp., Rhizoctania solani, Fusarium spp., Botrytis cinerea(bud rot), Sclerotium rolfsii, and Sclerotinia homoeocarpa). The mycorrhizal fungi excrete powerful chemicals that dissolve mineral nutrients, absorb water, retard soil pathogens, and glue soil particles together into porous structure. Mycorrhizal can expand the surface area of the root mass by 700%. Both plant and fungus benefit from the symbiotic relationship. Research has documented improved plant nutrient and water uptake and resistance to a wide range of soil diseases and environmental extremes. Plants establish, fruit and flower more abundantly and require less intensive care.*Piranha Growing Tips: Be aware in hydroponic use Mycorrhizal colonisation will turn roots to a light shade of brown. This will increase water retention efficiency.

Has anyone used this before. It's very expensive stuff. Any feedback greatly appreciated ... Thanks

I have not used any AN stuff...are you intending to use this in hydro or soil?

I have used (and still do) Biozome, Subculture, Rooters, Plant Savers, Micormax, and DTE Soluable root enhancer.

To be honest with you...none of this stuff is necesary in soil. It is all just boosters for late in flower, transplants, and composting. It can be overdone just like a fertilizer...you can boost your 'beasties' so much, that they can lock up Phosphorous.

In soil, all your natural additives add beneficial fungi, nematodes, and bacteria. Worm castings, guano, alfalfa, manure, etc. are all LOADED with microlife...in case you didn't know...cold composted steer manure is 30% dormant microlife.

It is my opinion, this product was made for hydro, but I'm sure it will be a great booster in soil given at the right times.

Let us know how it works for you...ok? :)

Here is a beneficial link about piranha. I use this product and wouldn't go without it. It helps the root mass grow larger. Piranha's fungi and your plant's roots work together to make it easier for your plant to uptake water and nutrients. Flowering is enhanced, the grow medium is stabilized and nutrients are more efficiently used.

Larger roots = Larger Fruits

It's just mycorrhizal fungi...you cannot over do it with this stuff, it's not a fertilizer but living organisms that become symbiotic with plants roots, causing the roots to get incredibly huge. I would NOT buy that Piranha stuff...way too expensive when you can buy that fungi at a number of places for lil or nothing. If you are using any kind of chemical ferts then don't use this because chem ferts will kill the fungi. Def worth investing in if you're strictly bio though. Good luck!
