Hey , I am not to sure but just wanted to let you know I am newer than you and wil be starting some in a few days waiting for some good seed . I did some outdoor grows in the early 80's ( a few ) and was alright gonna try a few indoor and small just for head .. Good luck
The "about" will be a pretty large window, but to help narrow it down can you provide some info on your grow? Lights? Soil? Hydro? Nutes you are using and how much you have used? What kind of plants?

well from my bagseed I didn't see alternating nodes (sexual maturity) until about 50 days into veggie and then I turned the light cycle to 12/12 and they have been flowering for a week now. You trigger flowering indoors, it doesn't just "happen". You change your light cycles from 24/7 or 18/6 to 12/12 and the plants will think the days are getting shorter (fall) and will start to produce bud.

you don't have to wait till alternating nodes to flip the lights... you can start the flower cycle anytime you wish. However WHEN you start the cycle is 1 up to you and 2 will determine how much you yeild.

the majority will veg for 8 weeks and flower for 8-12 depending on strain.
but yeah, you can flower after a matter of days of veg, you`ll end up with little bud though, but your mini plant will look cool.

just sand? that won`t be sufficient drainage for MJ. try adding some perlite or vermiculite, you can pick it up from any garden centre or hydro store.
sand is used to aid in drainage, only around 5% though. i`ve never heard of anyone using sand alone. give no nutes for the first 3 weeks, only water, then "gradually" give nutes starting off with a small amounts and increase over time.

yeah i gathered that, sand alone with soil won`t do for drainage:p
