Bit Confused

I'm a bit confused here, so i hope someone can help me. When my seeds have germinated, im going to put them into my soil mix, do i put them under lights right away for 2-3 weeks and then go into veg stage or do i leave them sprout first without light and when sprouted will i be in the veg stage then and put them under lights?

Hope someone can clear this up.

i put them under lights as soon as i plant the seed in the soil. Some say it doesnt need to be under a light until it breaks the soil but i dont do it that way. As soon as the plant sprouts out above the soil it is in veg stage.

Take the flouros or whatever ur using for the early stage and get em as close as heat allows to the soil... they'll sprout out fast...

Thanks for the replys, but just so that i have it right, here is what ive done so far. I got some potting compost and mixed it with perlite and i watered the plant and i put it near the window. After 3 days i got my first set of leaves "Cotyledons" is that when i should have went into vegetative stage and gave it some nitrogen? Right now im on my third set of leaves with the 4 set just coming up. And i want to use a 250w MH for the veg and 250w HPS for the flowering. The kit i want to buy is a 250w HPS, kit includes ballast and reflector, will a 250w MH blub fit?

MH bulbs won't match with HPS balasts period, unless it's a switchable balast.Bulbs and balasts have to match.Locally, I can use the same socket for MH and HPS but balast and bulb have to match.

once the plants have some leaves, you can put them under their permanent lighting, crap there is people here that put their seedling on their main light as soon as it comes out the soil for 12/ 12 lighting.. i say wait till you have leaves since LEAVES are the ones absorbing the light. hope this helps.. good luck..

Just before i put on my permanent lighting (18/6) should this be my first time i feed it some nitrogen? I will be using Bio Harvest Grow - NPK 9:2:7 and for flowering ill be using BioBizz Bio-Bloom - NPK 2.0-6.0-3.5
