Sorry to bombard you all with so many questions.
I ordered my kit and im kinda of excited, and keep
thinking of more questions.

If you mods, like merge my threads..

I apologize for any inconvenience.:hitchair:

Now on to my question..

About SOIL.

Ok you get the FOX FARM expensive soil, you use it..
You grow your plants and harvest it and etc.

IS THE SOIL REUSABLE?? or does it thrown away??
Then buy more expensive dirt.

Thanks..

Well i wouldn't reuse the soil because it doesn't have the nutrients that it had before. It's like drained. You know like big farmers how they have to refertalize their ground and are spose to use a different farm patch after 7 years to give the ground a break because it doesn't have the nutrients.

You're better off buying more. The money you put in will reward you with great bud, and it's still cheaper than street prices ;)

well Buying some new soil and adding nutes to the old and mixing it would work...i'd actually do that. But if it came to reusing just old soil i wouldn't do it. Just like i said farmers refertalize the ground so it's possible. But i'd definately mix in NEW soil too. =)

For someone new I would recomend buying new soil each grow. Its just one less thing that you have to think about. Im new and I try to keep it as simple as possible and it really works. Those are just my thoughts the situation.

So how do you know if the soil is low on NUTES??

I figured just adding nutes would solve the nute problem.
But im sure. there other factors in soil than just nutes.. i suppose

Are there other test to be done on the soil other than PH?

we used to take all our old used soil and use it for our outdoor gardens!

If your really broke than reuse your soil but if your not than just go get some new stuff. If your only growing a few plants its really not that expensive. Personally I would rather have fresh soil every grow. Thats just my opinion.

Don't skimp on your soil. Use your old soil to improve your outdoor garden. If you really know what you are doing you can remix your old soil. If you know that much you don't need to buy soil anyways because you have your own compost pile or start with good compost. Good soil is a small price to pay for piece of mind and healthy plants.

honestly i never throw away my soil. If you use organics there is no need to ditch it. If i use chems i don't reuse it normally. But you can...

To be honest, all the soil needs after a grow is a little perlite, and some lime to bring the pH back to it's proper level.

I have never understood why anyone would throw away 25$ a bag soil????

Hmmmmm,
Let's see if I can say this smoothly, Look out in the farmers field, and see if you can spot the white tank of anhydrouse ammonia. The farmer plows this stuff under the soil. The ammonia sparks the bacteria into multplying rapidly, and in this way the farmer gets his soil to start breaking down, and releasing the minerals, bacteriums, vitamins, and food sources that a plant will need.
It's far easier to get a new bag that has all this in motion, than to work with spent soils. By the way, these spent soils do rejuvinate over a bit of time if placed outdoors in the weather which assists in breakdown.

hey thanx wakenbake that's what im trying to say i always reuse my soil in my house plants and my mj plants and never had a problem at ALL

It comes down to contaminates... it can go from one plant to another very easy.

Composting the soil is the best bet...

I've used my old soil for clones... I'm suprised they lived... w/ all the salts from the last grow in them...
