I had a thought.

Most of you growers, either VEG then FLOWER
or keep them VEGGING for clones..

In MJ's natural cycle.. what happens??

It veggs, then go flower. Then what happens to the plant
if uncropped to just grow?? Does the FLowering buds eventually
Die/dry and fall off and go back into VEG state and cycle
on and on?? Or does it just die??

It dies... and if not pollenated by a male nothing will be growing there again.... if there are males around... then u'll have a bullload of plants in that area starting next year.... but of course a bunch will be males too... most likely some hermies... and females... a big mix... if left alone for a few years hermies show up more and more often... darwin survival characteristics.

yeah, in the wild, the plants would go through vegging until a few weeks after the summer solstice. After flowering, the males would pollinate the females, producing seeds in their buds. after the females died, the seeds from there buds would fall to the ground starting the cycle over.

:yeahthat: MJ is classified in botany as an "annual" plant, because it last only one season under normal outside conditions. Other plants are considered "perennials:" a plant that lasts for more than two growing seasons, either dying back after each season, as some herbaceous plants do, or growing continuously, as some shrubs do. Perrenials are sub-classed according to "short-lived" or "long-lived," depending on how many years they will keep coming back.

Probably more than ya needed to know. ;)

Im not positive but i think in a tropical location mj will grow two years into a tree size plant. Ive heard stories of huge plants where there is no frost but i might be wrong. never seen it my self. Slim

Where the climate permits, sometimes annuals persist more than one season- "hardy annuals." Get me a ticket for that tropical paradise where mj grows tree-size. I saw some in Paraguay- they called it "Paraguayan Black," after the resin that dripped off the joints. Still it was a one season plant there, just grew fantastic!
