recently tried sea of green... got 36 clones put them into 4x4x4 rockwool cubes and started the flower process after they rooted. tried with 3 different strains and none of them did the amazing stretch that i had read would happen. instead i got 36 .5 gram nuggets... i had 3 trays with 12 each and fed each a bit differently.... this was under a 400w HPS.... the quality was great but the quantity was very bad.
there is not a lot of detailed info about sog. online (at least i couldn't find it) and i was wondering if maybe i needed to veg for a week or two or maybe try yet another strain... anyone with info about sog that could maybe point me in the right direction, would be very helpful.

Weird man. It could just be the strain. I've done it with a skunk strain and have had great results... well, all things considered. I was getting anywhere from 15 grams or so up to almost 40 I'd say. My take is that it is not the strain for the style of grow.
It is good practice to Veg the clones for a week or so after rooting.
SOG is typically 1 plant per square foot. You can squeeze it maybe in 1 plant per sq.ft. but do not over crowd that will hurt yeild.

If you start clones on 12/12 light from day 1 you will not get the stretch.
Check out some of parkingjoes grows.

Yeah i had to learn the hard way the first time i did clones i put them straight into 12/12. They grew max about 8 inches tall and very little bud. Next time i vegged them for 2 weeks after they rooted and had been transplanted and i was much happier with the results.

i was going to veg for a week or two this next time... i was hoping i was just missing something... its tough to run my light for 18 hours... i have someone feeding me clones... but i guess i gotta do what i gotta do... they grow very fast in the rockwool... i'm used to soil. thanks for the advice i'll be checking out some of the grow journals to see if i can learn something (and there is always something to learn)
You can make a "clone box" with a few flos and a couple of CPU fans. Vegging clones is not as demanding in lumens as flowering a plant.
It's worth 40 bucks to set up a rubbermaid container with (4) 2' flos or spiral flos and a cpu fan just for a clone box. IMHO. Esp. if you have someone giving them to you. :)
