I have 5 plants about 5 weeks old and all are VERY healthy. I have been allowing them 15 hours of daylight (6 of which is direct sunlight filtered through wire mesh) from dawn till dusk, then I bring them inside with a small light to stave flowering. Now, I want to induce flowering by putting them in a light-proof container form 5:30 pm (when either my wife or I get home every day), then outside in the sun the next morning at 5:30 am. Thusly, an inside 12/12 schedule with outside organic mediums. A solid plan, in my head. Can anyone advise? Pro or Con?

That sounds like a lot of work why not just buy a light and put it on a timer?

There is alot that could go wrong.Youre wife or your time might change or something MIGHT come up or oh,damn I thought you were gonna take care of the plants tonight thing. So there are SO MANY things that COULD happen.Just like Maineharvest said It would be ALOT easier if you'd just put it in on a timer.Thats just MHO.Hope this helps.Keep it GREEN:hubba:

What lighting set up can you recommend?

What lighting set up can you recommend?IMHO,I would recommend a MH for your veg state and then a hps for your flowering.Puting either light on to a timer you can get from wal-mart for like 6-8 dollars. They do have set ups where you can use either MH/HPS. You can get set ups really cheap at HTGsupply.com all ready to grow for under $120. If thats to much, then you could get yourself some cfl's for your veg. cycle at wal-mart.Then put them on a timer.TIMERS are one of my things I DONT do with out in my grows.Hope this helps, and let me know how things work out for you.Keep it GREEN:hubba:

I'd like to add that you could bring pests into the grow area by having them outside during the day. Which an indoor grow is a great environment for bugs and stuff. I'd either leave them outside or leave them inside. IMHO

Have to agree with Mutt. A plant I'm revegging at the moment was put out during the day and brought inside under lights at night.
Ended up getting infested with fungus gnats. Larvae laid in the soil. Swarms of the the little buggers emerging everyday.
Just about have it under control now. Haven't watered her in almost 2 weeks. The soil is bone dry now and over the last couple of days, if I tap the side of the pot, only 1 or gnats fly out. Another couple of days I'm hoping problem will be solved.
Thanks to TBG for the help
