Looked liked we were living in the stone age with a max attachment of 200kb. I thought it was a little more actually. lol

Well anyways, image attachments are upto 2 mb per picture. But i still would resize your pictures to a normal view like 1028 X 768 That would be big enough and would be a couple of hundred kb in size, big enough in my opinion.

So have fun everyone and show off those amazing pictures ;-)

Awesome MarP! I was wondering if it'd ever get around to it. Thanks a lot man, it's going to help us all haha. Prolly make it so more pictures get uploaded the proper way to, being as everyone just does it their way due to resizing issues. Once again thanks, it's appreciated! take care man.

Hi MOM : - )
i would take the dead leaves off if i were you, its pointless having a plant trying to feed a dead leaf, let all the growing power go to the living plant, by the way, i thought you were growing in a box?

say marp,

there's alot of people (like me) that only have dial up connections and some that even have to pay for there bandwidth usage... one could browse and post for a month on 2 megs worth or look at one pic and be done for a month :)

with 2 meg pics I wont be looking at them or be able to help my fellow growers when they ask for help and post a pic

56k connection is the best i can do and I know for allot of people around the world it's the same

smokinmoms pic took me 3 minutes to load at 444kb

just my .02 worth bro

HGB, i'm on dial up too. I live 20 miles from town and that's all we're able to get, the towers are too far away for DSL or cable. I pay 60 a month to have it on it's on line and for the dial up. I can view through posts, click on pictures and upload images, it is slower but not THAT that slow. And a lot of the times i view the plant through the attatchment spot to help other people. Occasionally do i have to click for closer inspection to tell something. I think it'll be fine. It'll also increase the ammount of people who upload their pictures correctly making it easier to view posts rather than when they have the picture link directly on the post so it loads the full size picture onto the post.

You'd need to resize them. I use "HP imagezone" that comes with my computer, you don't have a program or anything like that, that would let you resize things? if not ibanview or something like that, it's a picture thing you can dl it and do some cool effects to the pictures + resize them. i used to have it a while ago.

I understand you HGB. My recommendation to members is to keep resizing (http://www.resize2mail.com/) there pictures.

1.2 for an image is very large indeed.

It's up to members what they do. But what Dewayne says about using imageshack for example loads the pictures fully in the thread which causes it to take even longer.

But if you look at the popularity of sites like Youtube you notice that a lot of people have faster connection now.

I'm 45 miles away from town and my isp and my connection goes from oregon to cali then to washington and then off to NY before i hit the net :) so my 56k dails in at about 30k on a good day.

as for looking at the pics in the post well i cant see to good (only one eye left) so it's nice to be able to enlarge the pic some if need be just not that big :D

a 2 meg pic takes me 15 minutes to veiw

you lost me on the correct way to upload pic's tho??? there's only a couple of admin options with this software concerning the upload of pics (thumbnail or thumbnail with inline) myself i have never been able to inline a pic here, just a link to the full size pic

peace

Most images turn up as thumbnail, I don't understand why some other don't.

I have seen some pretty large images on your forum also. How large did you set the file attachments if I may ask?

mine is set at 115kb or 800x800 :) but once in awhile my cron goes crazy and wont catch a larger pic if hosted on a different site and just inlined as a link and blow's a thread out to the side but probably just a hand full like that...

we inline so thats why the 115k limit :D :48:

peace
