Hey everybody, it's been awhile since I've been on the site. Just busy. Anyway my question is about my light cycle and when is a recomended time to change it. She's been on a 24/7 light cycle for the first 83 days, Started with fluoro's first two weeks or so, since then though it's been under a 250 watt Agromax HPS. I switched it to a 18/6 cycle on day 84. She was already nice and bushy due to topping and or pruning. She's starting to stretch and grow alot faster now that she has some dark periods. It's now been 2 weeks and 5 days in the 18/6 cycle. When should I go lower? And by how much? 16/8? Remember she's only 102 days old. And will I need to go up to a 400 hps or higher? How much and when? Any advice guys?:farm: :confused2: :farm: Please Help!

102 days old? LOL. Put her into flower already! A plant vegged for over three months. Dang. She should be 8 foot tall.

How was I impolite? What better advice could you be looking for?
Your plants have been vegging for almost 14 weeks. I'd venture to say that the majority of indoor growers veg their plants for about 8 weeks maximum (I'm sure there are exceptions). As a matter of fact a lot of grows are about 100 days TOTAL, including flowering. So your plants are defintely ready for 12/12.
Sorry for cluttering up your thread, hope you get some better advice.

When to flower is pretty much up to the grower and the space restrictions of the grow area. Your plants sound as if they're probably pretty large by now.
My last crop vegged for 36 days and was 18 inches tall when I started flowering.
I go directly from 24/7 to 12/12 and start my flowering nutes on a scheduled turn around from a vegging mix to flowering mix over a two week period.
Can you post pics of your plants?
I would suggest that you put them into a 12/12 schedule right now and start your flowering nutes.
Good luck to you man.

ya i would definately flower them buddy. i only vegged my plants for 2.5 weeks and they are 6 weeks old right now (3.5 weeks of 12/12). i expect them to be done in 6 weeks max. making it 12 weeks start to finish. you could probably be soming those buds right now

Thanx. I have plenty grow space and my baby is now 13in tall. I've had other schwag weed that grows really tall, real fast, but this Strain is different. The max number of fan leaves is five, most of them only have three.
I don't see the need to rush anything. Like I was saying I have plenty grow room and only this plant to tend to. I have other grow friends and from what they have seen they recommend 12/12 in a week or two. They say I could do it know but She will just stretch faster and use up my grow space quicker. So what's the point in rushing it's cycle if it's still short and bushy? Any advice Stoney Bud? Or anyone else with prior grow knowledge?

102 Days old and only 13 inches tall?
More than anything else, I'm curious as to how you did that.
Had I grown a plant for 102 days, it would be 8 feet tall by then.
Have you been pruning it to keep it small?

It has been in my first post of the thread. Yes. First to keep small then when I acquired a bigger grow room I kept doing it for tightly grown buds. And more of them. Imstead of one cola why not 25 or 50.

I saw your reference to "topping or pruning", but didn't realize that you meant you were pruning it to remain at 13 inches tall for more than 100 days.
Good luck man.

You are a more talented man than I. There is no way I could have a plant thats 13 inches tall after 102 days. Mine will be 13 inches tall in about 3 weeks.

wouldn't it be wise to get the plant as near to flowering light as possible that would stop stretching a bit and keep it compact.
Peace:)

to answer your question.
the best time to flower is probably on the Lunar calender.
