Molasses?

I've been away from the grow forums for a couple years and I've been finding a lot of refeences to using molasses during flowering.
Could someone fill me in on the thought behind this and the reasoning for doing this? I've never heard of it before and needless to say, it has aroused my interest and I'd really like to learn more about it, maybe just link me up to a couple threads with info on this?

thats not true molasses does not help your plant in any way...ppl on the net just like to make up fake stuff to make it sound like they know what there talking about.

I did not use molasses but on my last grow I used Sweet and grew the biggest buds ever.

I'm looking for the reasoning behind it, like does the sugar and/or staches supposedly produce bigger buds? Does it supposedly make the buds sweeter?
I don't want to start any arguments, I'm 42 years old and have been growing on and off for 25 of those years, I still ask a lot of questions but I don't like to start drama by doing so, from now on I'll just search the forums.

I was pointed here to maybe give you the info you needed but I see mutt has linked you to it allready.

the 3_liitle_birds (3lb) have some great info out on growing and have been around for many many years. A google search will bring up some of there stuff like the scope on poop guide (another great read).

HGB, rolanterroy, Hick, DLtoker, and quite a few others are very knowledgable when it comes to organics.
No Drama here, only when something is said "off-the-cuff" without substantiated literature on the subject.
