Sorry but chat is not safe and secure. Until Mp can figure out a way to make it safe it won't be back. Sorry guys and gals.

Just put a sensor filter along with username and password verification, you can't stop people from using "that" kind of language in a chat room:chat rooms are way too casual

I think its more of a safety issue, rather than "rule" issue..
Its good to know.. that MarP, looks out for all of us that way..

The problem is that we have to install it on the server to be safe for you guys but we haven't found a good one that is freely available and secure at the same time. Also there are a few that are very resource unfriendly taking up a lot of the server and making it slower.
We keep it in mind and try to find a good solution to this.
Thanks

"that" is one of the reasons it got canceled. Because some people weren't mature enough to use proper manners among people they don't know.
Personally, I'm glad to see it go. Way too much work trying to make it someplace that wasn't over-taken by bad mouthed kids. More people got banned over the chat room than any other cause.
"that" is the biggest problem.
Sorry folks, but I'm strongly against ever having one again.

I agree with Stoney in his views yet also see other members idea of thinking it fun, i often went in it to chat and it was always empty lol, the only way to stop the childish of this forum ruining chat is to have someone sitting in the room with control of it removing un desirables, i have to admit it would be nice to go into open chat with folks and get to know them a bit better than just trying to decipher how a person is by just reading posts.

uh.......out of all the chats i participated in, i don't think i was ever offended and can only think of one person i did offend. but i think it worked out in the end, cuz well, i think most things that offend people are misinterpreted and easily cleared up. As was that case. I was really stoned (whats new) Heck, i didn't even know i offended the person LOL. On top of that, i didn't even remember our conversation! :o And now well, that person knows who they are and, i like to think we get along now quite well :hitchair:
People have to "choose" to be offended. No one is ever "offended".
If you don't like chat, don't go. If you are participating in chat for the sole purpose of being disruptive and causing problems. Get banned from chat. but not the site.
Can they be separated? who knows. we'll leave that question up to the mods after a way is found to re introduce chat. My point of the thread was for the sole purpose of bringing to the forum owners attention that there are still members that would love a solution to be found to the problem. I think chat was an EXCELLENT enhancement to the site and i think encouraged participation. I could be wrong but i think participation of the group was increasing with the advent of chatroom.
