View Full Version : Mixing your own soil

Alright, so im very interested in creating my own soil from worm castings, peat moss, whatever is recommended, curious as to what recipes people have gotten or come up with that give great nutrient delivery and providing a stable growth enviroment.

I used the famous 'Black Gold' which worked awesome, but id really like to get a little bit more specific in my plants needs, black gold is for growing anything really, tomatos, squash, zuchinni, etc....all of which i still grow in Black Gold!

Thanks for the link Hippy....was really curious as to what recipe people use to make what is in thier opinion the best growing medium, not necessarily a compost.

Like i said, i've used black gold, and its great. Really curious as to how much of certain things people use in thier soils mixtures, like how much of worm castings per gallon of soil, or how much guano per gallon to mix in to create the "ultimate" soil mixture.....
