air tables or terraponics?

i've got an air table that i've been using for a while to catch runoff....after recently trying a flood drain system i was debating on if i should use the air table for a flood and drain....i've got 21 6" pots that fill it perfect and could easily get some grorox....i was just wondering if anyone has any experience using one or has heard anything good or bad about them....i really like the idea of just using an air pump to flood the table instead of a water pump....it'd be a lot cheaper and easier to replace if it breaks down....
