This is my first post on here so a big hello from me!

Anyway,

Just to let everybody know this is my first time growing Hydroponically and I also have 1 in a soil bucket.

Right, I have 8 plants that are grown Hydroponically and I have got yellow and curling leaves. In the beginning I added the nutrients A&B Grow (recconmended on the bottle 4ml per Litre of each) to the tank and when I come to add the PH it was really low (around 3.00) and I found myself adding loads of PH up to get to 6.00 and a week later when I noticed the leaves were going yellow I checked the PH level and it was 7.34, so I added PH down to get back to 6.00 and I then left the system for a full day and when I checked the PH again it was 6.21, why is it going up all the time??

I also have a plant in soil and that has no yellow leaves but I use the water from the same tank as the other 8 is this because of the soil that this one looks ok?

I hope someone can help me with this problem as 6 of the 8 plants look really ill. http://www.marijuanapassion.com/forum/images/icons/icon9.gif Thanks in advance,

Mark

I think your nutes are having a major role in your issues. The optimum pH is 6.0, when it is 6.0 the plants have the best ability to take up the nutrients in the water. I would get the water pH-stabilized first, then add the nutes, and see if that helps correct the problem. Your plants, it sounds, are either getting too many nutes, and then they take some nutes out, and pH goes whacky, and then your pH goes down.

Your plant in soil has one advantage over your soiless grows, the soil acts as a small buffer, which is probably why it isnt being nutrient burned so much, if thats the problem. Soil also does contain some nutes and helps stabilize pH levels.

Im not expert, but that sounds about right to me! ;)

Nova,

You are right, it turns out my CF stick is faulty! it was reading 10 but infact it was 24 (more than double the doss), I have done a fresh mix so I will have to see how it goes. When I find my cam I will add some pictures.

Thanks again,

Mark
