planted a seedling???

I had planted one of my seedlings it had a tail of 1/4 long and i planted it about 1 in down and is now under the light cfl how long till it sprout above the surface? what should i look for and how often to water?

It should be fairly soon dude, just keep the light on it or else thr bugs will come for it or something like that.
