Looking for some advice

Hello everyone :)

A friend of mine is looking to start growing their own, they have a 13'x13'x7.5' room with a 3'x7'x7.5' closet to use. I'm going to be helping them set this room up but neither of us have ever setup grow rooms so we're pretty clueless.

I'm thinking just get a Multi Flow system (http://www.hydroponics.net/items/details/multiflow.asp) and get a Hydro Hut (http://www.hydroponics.net/i/131790).

Also, as for lighting, the house is pretty old so we're worried about strain on the electrical system. Or is this something I shouldn't worry about?

I've been researching alot and plan to continue but I wanted to also put up a thread, additional info can't hurt. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I should also add that they'll be growing year round (Northeastern USA) and are not looking to spend more than 2K. The lower the better of course.

I have 2 hydrohuts. The 4x4 ones. They are great. that system is NOT good if you are using the hut. Go with a 3x3 ebb/flow table, they are probably around 200 ready to go. It will be the best bet I think for you. I have one hut with a 3x3 table and the other has a 2x2, 5 drips and a mom. The hut is worth it the system you are looking at is way too expensive

I would personally start with a soil. Less expensive, and much more forgiving.

You have to make sure you don't exceed the number of amps your house wiring can handle. So depending on how many lights you use, you might have a problem.

You can always use other circuits and unless you have more than 2 1000s you'll be fine with power. Soil would be cool it is very forgiving, but don't be intimidated by hydro, its a great method with phenominal results and isn't that hard

They're not planning on using the closet, I just wanted to throw those measurements out there.

Soil is looking like the way to go, plus the less electrical stuff the better too.
