you say you can use HPS all the way, but my question is how do you feel about metal Halide for vegging, I am using HPS for flowering rite now I was just wondering about next time around.

Halides are the best if you can use power without a prob. Blue is best and Halides are Max. in the blue spectrum. HPS works but Halides are better. T5 flos are also great and use less watts and you can put them an inch from the plants.
I have a 400w HPS using a hortilux bulb upgrade, which includes more: yellows, oranges and reds for less stem stretching etc.

How close should you get a 1k watt MH bulb to your sproutlings (about 1.5 - 3.5 inches tall)?
