My Palm tree is to tall

Im have a Palm tree thats growing to tall for the house ,I was wondering it it possible to cut the tree in half and save or clone the tops ? the tree is real large .

Ive done similar, my method is thus...decide where your going to cut the tree, just above that mark slit open the bark about 5 inches long from top to bottom and sprinkle rooting powder in the slit, stuff with sphagnum moss or similar, do this a dozen or so times around the girth, after several weeks you will see roots appear, keep moist at all times, when enough roots show, cut your plant and re plant it in well prepaired soil.
