OK everyone here is the question.
What do you get when you grow an unknown Sativa?
Want me to tell ya? Well Do ya, Do ya?
You get a waist of freaking time that's what ya get. Everything was going just great. Got our first ever female Sativa showing pre flowers and BAM. Damn male flowers start popping up everywhere. Full blown freaking HERMIE. Well HE/SHE is off to the SLAUGHTER HOUSE along with the rest of the seeds. :p We might have grown him/her out but we have some other ladies in flower that can't get tainted by some HERMIE pollen so the only other option is DEATH. I assure everyone it will be quick and painless. Here are some pics of the DEATH ROW subject before going on the long walk.

Hey, bad luck but good post......
What was the origin of the seeds? Bagseed? Unknown freebies in seedpack? A TBG experiment gone bad?

Hey, I was just reading about breeding, and found that it was common back in the old days for many of the land race sativas to be naturally occuring hermis. In fact, before the days of serious breeding, good smoke did not really have to be seed free, as it was hermi weed. And that was expected in the strain.........
The introduction of the true indica bred with the sativa helped to stabilize the plant, eliminating the hermi trait in many strains. Apparently the true unaltered indica does not carry any hermi traits.
I understand this selective breeding to eliminate hermis in sativa dominant strains has been recent. Early to mid 70's. For some of us, that seems like only yesterday......

:48:You are so right HGB,I dont uderstand why people would want hermie seeds. But,some people have to learn the hard way.I believe that it was HICK that was saying that years of work went down the drain because of the hermie gene.Keep it GREEN:hubba:
