Metal Halide Bulbs

Would metal halide bulbs 400w work for budding how good do they work etc.:holysheep:

ive harvested plants under a 175 watt mh it worked fine its just not as fat but ive heard like the mh works on diff things that the hps doesnt like ive heard when you grow with nothing but mh there is more resin i dont know id have to read up on it again but yes it works fine bro

from what i have read, if you can only afford one bulb you should go with hps bulb for veg and flower...do a search

isnt it that mostly blue is better for veg and mostly red for flowering?

both MH and HPS will work good for flower. HPS does put out more lumens per watt than an MH.
MH has more blue spectrum...HPS more red/yellow like fall.
If you are willing to spend some extra $$ get a switchable ballast... ;)

yes... if you have the same wattage bulb in both MH and HPS, it is best to veg in MH, then switch to the HPS for flowering.

the "more bluish" spectrum of the MH is favoured by a vegging plant, however, the "more redish" spectrum of the HPS is favoured by the flowering plant
