Put it under 12/12 light and it will show sex within a week or two. You can do this at anytime.

Just remember that depending on the strain, you may not see any sexual characteristics for between 21 and 35 days. You can force 12/12 all you like, but the plant will not show anything until it is sexually mature. The timing of this is completely dependant on the strain of weed.

so i can sex it when it is still in veg state it is about 4 inches tall with about 16 leaves when is the best time to sex id like to do it now if i can but i want to keep it as helthy as possible..

If it's only a few inches high it's got a bit more growing before it's ready for flower. Veg it for a few weeks, switch to 12/12 and you'll know soon.

Only way to tell before that is to take a cutting and flower the cutting. Yours is too small for that. RBH

Yes Tom,
You can sex them in the veg stage. I just checked mine every day. Mine are all bag seed also. Mine have been vegging for 2+ months, some I could tell sex after 4 weeks (28 days), others took as much as 40 days (or 7 weeks). A plant will only show sex when it reaches sexual maturity...NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO WITH IT..HOW YOU LIGHT CYCLE IT..WHATEVER....It will only let you know when IT is ready. You just have to check them every day..vegging or not.

I'm not saying what your take on the matter is wrong:cool2:. Perhaps it is that growing plants at 12/12 from birth speeds up the maturing of the plant:holysheep: . Especially since at 12/12, the plant is supposed to be thinking that it's life cycle is half over. I just wanted Tom to know when he could sex his plants if they were still vegging:beatnik:.
