My babies keep dying on me and i cannot work out what it is, too many factors are coming into play but heres the story if you have time.

As some of you may know because i have posted about it here before, I 'used to' have a 600 watt mh/hps ballast and bulbs in my grow room (an airing cupboard) approximately around 3-4 feet wide 3 feet deep and about 10 feet tall (i cant remember exact scales) but the room got way tooo hot, as soon as it hit 85 degrees F i opened up the door and it cooled down to around 75-78 with 2 osc fans constantly running.
But in the long term this wouldnt do as when they start to flower i will have light leaks cos the door is open to keep it cool.
So i went out and bought myself some fluro lights 2 x 3 feet and 2 x 4 feet, i moved the plants (2 had already died by that time which i thought was the heat) and fitted out the wiring + light fixings, now with them fluro's and with the air flow i have going constantly plus the 2 fans inside the room is hitting around 82 deg F max (is this too hot ?).

Today another of my babies died after fitting out the new fluro's :( so 3 out of 5 are dead but the thing that intrueges me is the 3 that have died where big bud seeds and the 2 that are alive and doing VERY well are jock horror both types bought from 2 different stores i would have thought it was the other way around and i would have put it down to stress with the babies dying from moving the pots, changing light types potting the cubes in soil etc but i dont think this is the case, why are the harder to grow plants thriving in the stres they are going through and 'ALL' the big bud plants have died ? :(

Any input to help me resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated as i think i am doing something drastically wrong.

edit* sorry forgot to mention a couple of things the plants are around 1 week old after germinating and germinated very well which took around 3-4 days in total b4 they shot out of the rockwool cubes with temps around 72-82F (i used a heater with a thermo for this as i have read many times its best to germinate in dark areas)

Doesn't 82 degrees celsius = 179.6 degrees fahrenheit? :holysheep:

You dont have to worry about light leaks, the light will be out at night.
Just have to open it up each day, its what I do.

Can you tell us more about the grow? Soil, nutes, watering?
85 f is hot but I wonder if thats what killed them.

Unfortunately where i live (on a high street main road) and to keep the temps down while using the 600 watt MH my doors have to be open to let the heat out cos the hallway the airing cupboard is joined too is rather small and heats up quickly so it lets all the light in from the street lights which is much lighter than moonlight :( hence why i swiched to fluro, i could man handle the door but i suffer from insomnia pretty badly so my sleeping patterns all over the place and if i forget to open the door or sleep in one morning it will easily hit over 90 deg F with the 600 watt :( which is why i need my smoke lol

I water the plants at least twice a day, morning and night if its really warm like 80+ and the soil is dry i will water them lunchtime, im not using neuts on them yet and the soil i am using is a biomix 5% pre mix, 10% worm anure, 20% sphagnum peat moss, 35% peat, 30% perlite and a bit of vermiculite.

Well if you cant open and close it each day I understand.

Seems like alot of water, Not so sure about your soil, ive heard alot of peat moss and peat is not good can cause acidic soil.
Maybe try some regular soil like fox farms or even MG. just dont use any nutes for a while.

it could be over watering ill tone it down a bit and see what happens but the 2 plants that are alive are growing and look pretty strong, with the plants at this age ill germinate a couple more big buds and see what happens.
I'm not sure where to get that type of soil over here in gb i only came across this stuff by chance and it seemed to me that it was a good mix off waht i wanted ? and no i dont plan on using any neuts till the plants start to flower as i said ill tone down the watering and only water them like in the morning and see how they do, cheers for youre help dude
