Using a nutrient made for tomatoes may or may not work. There are about a million different mixes of tomato nutrients. Some of them are really strong and will burn your plant up.
Start with a weak solution about 1/8th the full strength suggested on the package. Work up from there.
You should use a mix that will let you water with the nutrients every time you water. Your plant will love you for that. Remember, too strong and you'll burn your plants up. Start weak and move up.

I have tomato food food from (Phostrogen) it says on the back of the box you should use 1 level teaspoon per 9 liters (2 gallons) in root feeding with every watering - then foliar feeding 1/2 teaspoon per 9 liters every 7 days - then ring culture same amount twice weekly until 4th truss forms, then 3 times weekly..
But i didnt under stand exactliy what is root feeding - foliar feeding - ring culture.
