Has this happened to you???

I dropped in at a party last night, a friend of a friend of a friend kinda invite... I had a small sack with me, enough for the evening for sure and as I entered the party room, I smelled some really ugly stuff being smoked by the younger group...I excused myself quickly, before I was offered the bong and went to the find the hostest...I explained that I really dont want to get smoked and I would prefer to get stoned, but I didnt want to embarass myself by turning down their smoke...She called me a pot snob, but gladly took a hit off of the little pipe I offered...Smiling widely, she nodded and exhailing she said ...oh, I see now... But she reitterated...you are a pot snob, but with excellent reasoning...

(My friends know I always smoke the better weed, however, none of them know that I grow it myself-...alas, it is a sad state of affairs when you cant brag on your buds to your buds...lol)

:tokie: :tokie: I turned the folks in the smoking room on to a couple doobies of the Snow White and it made quite a statement...everyone wanted to know what it was and where to get it and all I said it was a gift from a friend...I felt kinda bad I couldnt tell them the lineage and all the specifics, but I was self conscious enuf being with all these unknown folks in a social situation...:eek:
:farm: Several of the party goers were also growing their own and had some excellent smoke too.. gradually we all gravitated to a corner of the room and were passing around the bong with the good stuff... it looked as if a fog had settled in over our corner, when the old lady pulled me away to be social and have a drink with the hostest...:angrywife: before she pulled me away, I had smoked a couple bongs each of Snow White, Willie Nelson, Hindu Kush, Arjons Haze, White Widow, BlueBerry and Kali O... :bong1: I was a bit wobbly-legged but I managed to walk thru the party without mishap...:D

Do you turn down a hit of lesser quality??? I smoke soooo much, I hate to smoke something that wont get me high...I routinely pass on unknown joints, especially if I smell something rank...:bolt:

I find most "street" weed is not a good high for me anymore...just tired and doesn't last long.
I stick with mine and my bros herb. Lil patience and TLC and decent genetics. Most of my non-grower freinds won't smoke herb from the street. They don't know me and couple others in the circle grow. but, our circle is tight, so never have much options getting lesser weed here. Wouldn't know where to "hook" up...if my circle ran out. :eek: :eek: :eek:
Only couple of us are "chronic" tokers, rest just if in the mood just stop by...they know I'm generous with my herb. :D
I haven't seen a bag of commercial in a long long time.

I havent bought any weed since 1990, here at home, but only because I grow my own...Well, a couple of times I did buy weed in the Dam and was mostly disappointed with their lack of a good cure...I did meet a couple growers who had some outstanding Willie Nelson from Barneys (my next sativa project)...Anyway, I wouldnt know where to buy a bag of street weed anymore...Can you still get compressed columbian or mexican weed anymore??? I havent seen it in 20 yrs or more...sheesh, I think I'm older than freakin dirt...

i too am a pot snob recently had to go east for some family stuff and didnt take any with me because i figured that if i couldn't find any decent smoke i would clear the cob webs so to say well i get there and of course all i can find is brick weed i mean door stop quality this stuff was so bad that after a bowl toke i gave the whole ounce so the person that got it for me felt bad and spent the whole time i was there bringing me samples nothing compares to your own

Pot Snob huh ? Well let's see, I sometimes think your doing the world a favor by politily turning down swag. I am a pilot, (retired) I have flown all sorts of wonderful craft, in that world it's hard to find crap to fly, I love to drive down the road, and go for a picnic, Do you ? If you had a choice as to picnic locations which would you choose, a blanket laid out in the middle of an apple orchard in full bloom, a bottle of a fine seyval blanc, and her, or would you rather squat by a polluted stream ?
I think as long as your polite, then it's ok to have preferences. Look at what you did there, you shared some choice bud, being cool about the whole thing is a mark of maturity on your part. I think you did just fine, and you would certainly be welcome at any party I would have.

There has been many a time where I have gone to a "function" where dubbage has passed around. Of course, one doesn't go announcing upon arrival that they have some smoke to share, and eventually something gets passed around. Usually it only takes one hit of inferior weed by me before I will pull out my stash and just smoke mine solely... of course, I offer it to others.

I always get a kick about it when the people who are chain smoking 4 dubes of the street weed take a hit off mine and refuse seconds cuz they got "fried" off the first hit of my dubbage.:hubba:

ALWAYS accept a hit (doesn't gotta be more than one...) of offered smoke, and ALWAYS offer to share.

For health reasons i never toke "after" someone, i light mine (take a hit or two to make sure it is burning good) and pass it to whoever, and never take another hit. If offered a hit from one that is lit, i politly tell them i dont hit behind people...no offence but i just dont, and sometimes i even explain why. Usualy i am stoned enough anyway.
does this make me a pot snob? i just dont want to share spit with those i share a j with.

When I'm smoking, it's my Northern Lights. One hitters, I can't do doobs anymore, too much up in smoke (wasted). Unfortunately I have friends that call me to come over just to bring the "good stuff". Then they'll have some commercial grade rolled into this skinny J the size of a toothpick and expect me to rave over the quality of it. It's got to the point where I won't even answer the phone, (I love caller ID). Sorry but I AM a pot snob, and DAMN proud of my green thumb.

Yoouuuu know it!! Thas one of the reasons for doing it yourself... you know it isn't (well.. it could be.. but i'd hope not) garbage. Always good quality... always safe growing practices... and at $0.50 or less cost per g.

ever since I tasted the 1st homegrown, (a buddy brought some afghani home from his tour in middle east in 1975 and we crossed those seeds with some maui wowee and were impressed with the results) I knew home grown was the way to go.
Yeah, I smoked thai, cambodian, veitnamese, maui, columbian, jamaican and even some good gold mexican in the early 70's. by 1977 we had an excellent crop of maui/afghani and the rest is history. we crossed that afghani with everything we could find, (columbian, jamaican, mexican, etc..) and grew outdoors for more than 2 decades and in 1988 or 89 I switched to indoors and hydro. I've rarely looked back.
