stretching out

i have 3 42watt cfls and 2 26watt cfls they are 6" above the plant. the lowest the temp gets is 85. ive raised the lamps before but they stretch out.any tip on how to cool it down with out the stretch?

use a fan, blowing between the plants and the light.
the extra movment will also help the stretch.

A fan will do wonders. Cfl's don't get that hot, any further than 6" away you are losing precious lumens. I like to keep my cfl's max 6" away from my plants.
