I have always kept my ph at 6.5. I am growing in a hydro system. My plants have struggle with growth, but continue to grow very slowly. I am looking at some charts and noticed that a PH between 5.5 and 6.1 is good for the plant. I was wondering that because my ph is high, that’s why I am having problems. What is a good ph to grow in water? Thanks.

Yes, that will cause the plants to struggle and not produce well.
I try to keep my ph close to 5.8 as this is what the nutrients I am using now suggest.
I have had problems keeping it close to 6.2 before.

I am not a hydro man. But,I do know that you do want your ph for hydro between 5.8 and 6.3 and for soil 6.3 to 6.8 to prevent nutrient lock up and reduce the stress on the plants.Keep it GREEN:hubba:

my hydro is kept at 5.9 but it seems to want to just hang there. one word of caution... calibrate your meter regularily. when first starting i didnt calibrate for a week and it was off a full point. i dont have a million dollar meter but rather a 60 dollar hanna. perhaps the better units stay in sync better. also, store it properly and keep moist with ph solution or storage solution,,, not distilled water

Thanks for the info. I dropped the ph to 6.0. I am using the eye drop solution, which only tells me 5.5 or 6.0 and so on. How is the hanna. I was looking at that today.
