First - Read, read, read on this and other sites. There is a lot of info out there and much of it is in "stickies" at the start of the outdoor growing forums. Basically you have to dig holes for your plants and fill them with soil as forest soil is usually not good for growing MJ. You have the right idea in planting in different spots, no more than 3 or 4 in one spot is my way.

ok, plant close to water....south facing slopes preferable, 3 4 plants at a time no more. get holes dug adment soil with mix, perlite, lime compost etc. start reading! buy a growbook and start researching on everything outdoors. find a sgood seedbank anf get indicas. they mature faster meaning less time for them to get spotted or for problems to occur. use chicken wire to protect young plants. start seeds ASAP indoors in good medium. make sure to not overwater and use mix with good arreation. use organics cuz they are better for plants and are less likely to harm them. buy alot of compost (mushroom cow bird or chicken etc.) and READ READ READ!

You will have better success Imho if you just Put the seeds in moist-wet folded paper towel; and put that into a zip lock baggie, or a small tuperware container w/ lid.
and place the baggie/container in a warm location.
I find that battery packs to labtops, or large cd players..ect..ect.. are good places for ideal heat to germinate your seeds.

Put them in dirt without germing them or 1x1x1 rockwool cubes. They are great. Paper towel method is outdated

The paper towel method is just a pointless step.

I can't wait to see what you get going, BUT go at it slowly, think it all through carefully;
Create steps that you need to take. like this,
1. Order the seeds
2. search out good likely spots to grow in.
3. prepare the soil
4. sprout the seeds indoors if needed
5. set up watering
6. etc, etc, etc
Good luck and please keep sharing with us, we do so love to look at pics and dream of getting a bunch of property.
You might try to get it all growing as though it were just some wild hemp on the property, might save your butt in the long run.
Do you get hunters walking on the property late in the growing season ?
remember to think, and be dumb as a fox.

The paper towel method is just a pointless step.
Well, it doesn't help germinate any faster, but it is handy to see if there is any progress without having to dig a seed up.
