newbie question

Just ordered a cheap eight plant hydro setup the other day and will be starting in a few weeks. I was just wondering what is the difference from growing with the clay balls and growing with rockwool. Is one better than the other? I have allways grown in soil so I have no clue what im doing. Any tips or suggestions about anything would be awesome. Thanks.

I am not saying one is better than the other but I recommend you use the clay balls. Rockwool holds a lot of water. With the clay balls the roots will get more air.
I don't use rockwool but I have seen a lot of new hydro people have problems with overwatering and getting the ph right.

I use hydroton (clay balls) in my drip systems, I agree with Kasgrow.

I agree also, rockwool is great but there is a lerning curve, with water amounts and soaking to stop the pH from fluctuating too much. Good luck have fun:D
