<LI type=a>A substance used in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of a disease or as a component of a medication.

Well MJ is a drug by the legal sense, becuase Food n Drug deemed it so...
but its not refined, distilled, or processed like "drugs" as we know them....I think the right term would be "herbal treatment" or "herbal remedy" I think the term drug is not accurate to describe MJ. Now if THC was extracted in its pure form...then turned into a pill or elixer by man-made process (aka honey/hash oil using a chemical such as alcohol, or butane) Would be closer to what "drug" would classify to me.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I agree mutt. Thats why they should consider alcohol a felony huhh?? To me alcohol is more detrimental to your health than marijuana, its proven, and weed is still illegal.

Ah. There you have it. Legalization of marijuana would lead to a break down of the American socio economic structure. If the 1936 Controlled Substances Act was struck and replaced, i.e a retro-active law, prisoners would be released and possibly paid reparations for their years inside as a non violent offendor. You couldn't keep most prisons full. Jobs would be lost as well as investments and all.. oh man the system .. lest not forget the investments in oil, healthcare, or the textile industries which are embedded in the US' economic status quo. Economic downfall, the world will all go to hell.:doh:

(all mere possibilities, if MJ ever legalized it will be medication first and no law will ever be truly just and apply retroactively to right all the wrongs. Hemp industry isn't THAT great.. just like the miracle plant that would change the world...)

i like the cartoon the best :o

alcohol is a natural product of natural sugars - it should be regulated as it is and drunk drivers should get a prison sentence. It is nearly as old as homo sapiens and should not be a felony any more than marijuana should.

Synthetic and nothing but bad reviews on it...some would rather suffer the pain than use it.
I don't think alcohol should be illegal. There would go all sorts of stuff. but control is not bad either....but like anything it can and prolly will be abused by some. Difference between use and abuse is moderation.
