Sketchy looking weed, PICS INSIDE (did my bud get ripped on his 8?)

I have always got my herb from 2 sources and the looks are consistant because these guys grow the same strains every year. In short my MJ portfolio isn't very diverse.

So when my friend showed up to my house today with a not so hot looking 1/8th, I figured I should turn to the experts!

It seems.... leafy at best to me, and the smell is VERY mild, more of an earthy smell than the stuff I am used to that you can smell through the bag...

Basically I will summarize my questions as,

Price: 45$

1) How does this weed look to you, give it a rating out of 10

2) What are some reasons why these nugs look so much leafier to me, are they less devoloped b/c maybe they were on the lower branches and got less light?

3) Are physical apperance and smell a reliable indicator of potency (THC content)?

UPDATE- Smoked some of this dirt last night and oh my god. Felt normal for about 30-45m (but not high), then we both got a bit of a headache, which turned into stomach cramps an hour later. AVOID AT ALL COSTS haha. Turns out my buddy is semi-friends with the guy who sold him this stuff, so I guess he is gonna try to sort it out.

Thanks for all the replies I knew something was wrong when I looked at the bag or I wouldn't have made this post, I just thought maybe you can't judge the book by its cover in this situation.

my two cents:I actually had a bag around xmas time this year that looked just like that. Im of the opinion that it was either a struggling/ill plant, plant grown with crazy deficiencies or not enough light, OR it was harvested really young. I think the leafy-ness is there to add weight and thus increase profit to the dealer. It will still get you a little stoned(the leaves) but the bud definitely leaves something to be desired(no pun intended) BUT It was $45 and if it still gets you high, then just chalk it up to experience. I wouldnt say he wasnt "ripped off" for that price, AS LONG AS it does still get you high.
Im the biggest advocate in the world of growing your own, but sometimes you run out and have to search around in which case you wind up with whatever. I will also say that ive had weed that looked way better that tasted crappy and hardly got you stoned....

to me, schwag, i dont tend to smoke other peoples pot, anyway i'd never pay 45 for that, albiet i havent payed for weed since 99 or 2000 lol, how much did it weigh? also the higher leaf ratio to actual buds can be what they said or it could have been part of its strain characteristic.

did it weigh 3.5 grams?
i wouldnt pay over $20 for an eighth of that.
my rating is a 3 but i havent tried it so i can realy say how the buzz is but i would be pissed if i where you

trim the leaf and there may not be any left to smoke man.......i'm not frontn......i've had plants with "loose" budz before. mine was due to a bug problem and the plants were not putting all there energy towards budding. I had a huge amount of weed but...i woulda traded it for a 1/3 the quantity of quality buddage.

we could all sit here and give reasons to why this bud looks the way it does..so let me lay it out to ya.

somethings array. i mean...he's selling that shizt right? he either is really greedy and couldn't bare not to send out an inferior product cuz he wants your money and doesnt feel bad about it orrrrrrr.....he doesn't know any better and thinks this makes the grade. where do you benefit? reach your own conclusion.

hey smoke it and see, no way i could fairly say if its worth it. ive had stellar pot in jamica that looked like crap but it got me BLAZED.

I have seen that going around our area, they are passing it off as good outdoor. You smoke it and you feel your throat burn, than you get fairly high, and then you get a headache. I like growing...lol.

Im not putting it down or anything, if I was out I would probably get a quarter until my next harvest, but it looks just like what a buddy of mine smoked with me and said it was real good outdoor.

I'm in Chicago man so probably won't help much. It's pretty easy to find sick stuff around here and you normally can't pass of garbage like this, but my friend trusted the guy when he said it was good.

Or save your money, and get to growing man. My average per eighth is oh a couple bucks at most for primo buds that some I hear sell for 90+ a 1/4. ;)....grow your own and no more of the street crap. And a lot of the street stuff is crap.
Give ya an idea...one freind toked some of my CFL grown stuff.


The bud you get makes my dank seem like schwagg


Cost me 100 bucks to set it up. Got about an ounce...but after the set-up couple bucks a month. Or guerrilla grow and harvest lbs each year. ;)
