I heard today that a green spectrum light doesnt harm the plant and can be used to inspect crop at night time without disturbing the plant...anyone here confirm this? Thanks friends

Hmm. Never heard of it before. I would just inspect them when the lights are on. Just my thoughts. Take care and be safe.

I'm gonna have to ask why not inspect the plants while the lights are on?
I have seen it written that green light isn't "seen" by plants but I may be wrong. If it is true, then you would have to find a light which produced just green light and absolutely zero % of the other colors of light, which I believe would be pretty tricky to find.

From what I've read, it's true.
The theory is that a green light puts out the same spectrum as the plant, so it doesn't recognize green light.
This was from Jorge Cervantes.

That is 100% correct. I wouldn't get any light around my plants when it's nighttime.

Plants do NOT see green or absorb green light. This is listed in the FAQ or one of the stickies i think in the light forum.
This is used for flowering rooms when you MUST work in the night period. I personally use a green LED bulb, (super bright) and it makes my grow area look like a new age photo 'dark room' haha
but it's best to set the lights to times when you're home and normally do your planting necessities.

Just my own opinion but, when the lights are off it's the plant's "resting period", I would think it would be slightly detrimental to the plants to be messed with in any way. I mean an analogy would be somebody coming in and waking you up, or putting you in a different bed or pouring water down your throat or something. I don't know it's just my opinion lol.
MD, do green led's only emit just green spectrum and no blue? Just a question I'm not very knowledgable about led's in growing. Read about it a few times but that's about it.

It is 100 percent true that green light does not affect your marijuana plants when they are supposed to be in the dark. The best way to describe it without geting into a whole mess about light spectrums is that the plants are "color blind" to green light so if they can't see it they don't know it is there and it won't bother them. It is totally safe to use it.
Of course, personally, I just let them alone when it is time for them to be sleeping. The less you fuss with them when they don't need to be fussed with the better. I just wait until my lights pop on and take care of what I have to.

its funny hick gave rep there because i know exactly why he did, as you said harvester basicly yes the light isnt seen but to have the "proper" green spectrum will be hard to find as an incandecent green bulb wont cut it-
very valid point: why not check on them when the lights are on when u can see?
good posts! props bros...

I have a fixed green light in my room for when I want/need to do some work during dark.
Also if I want to watch my girls while they sleep.
Green light has no effect on the plants, just like a blind person can't see sunlight.
They want red, violet and white mixed light.

I do not work on the plants in their "rest" period, however, I do some regular maintainence like cleaning up the room and/or mixing more solutions, etc. I work in their when the lights are off because with the HPS light on, when I walk out of the room, it's like having been outside on a bright day walking indoors. Faded vision because the HPS is so bright.
ALL LEDs are dialed in to a specific nanowave (NM), this is why the LEDs are NOT good for flowering, because manufacturers want you to believe that red/blue LEDs are all you need to grow/flower, HIGHLY inaccurate! You've got to find all the right NM's in the LEDs to create your own full spectrum lighting.

Right on md.apothecary! When my plants are sleeping, I don't mess with them. There is always the next day. Just my thoughts. Take care and be safe.

...When in nature cannabis plants rarely get restful nights of sleep.
Wind, however slight.
Animals, brushing by or on.
Temp fluctuations.
I try to "Micro Stress" my plants to try and up the potency.
Sometimes when they are in their dark time I will go in the room and shake the pots a little.
