hey guys, just picked up a 400w MH bulb. Are all MH bulbs the same and good for vegging. How do you find out about spectrums an lumens to know if it is good? I tried a web search but came up empty. The bulb is a Sylvania metalarc pro-tech bt-37.

All MH are basicly the same and good for vegg, not bad for flower.

MH are better for veg and HPS is better for flowering. It will do just fine all the way through the grow though. Take care and be safe.

Aren't metal arcs different from regular metal halide lights? I dont think that those bulbs are designed for plant growth. I dunno??

Metal arc is just a trade name for Sylvania, like Multi vapor is for GE.

Yeah...I ordered a light from advanced garden suply once, and the bulb blew out in about a month...then they sent me a metal arc bulb.
So metal arc is the same as Metal Halide?
