I have a question about pre flowers.

What exactly do they look like? My baby is about 5 weeks veging and looks like a few hairs on a couple of nodes coming of the main stem are showing. There is just a little hair "about 1/4" long" on each side of the node on a few nodes, are these female pre flowers? Sorry guys, no pics!! Thanx

Could very well be. Are they 2 white hairs coming out of a node, or just a hair? I know no pics but they help. Let me see if I can find one and you tell us.

No, they don't quit look like that. It might be too early, it looks like the part the 2 white hairs are coming out. They just popped up over night and when i saw them i was jumping in joy that i might have girls... First grow, i want all girls.... I guess ill have to wait and see... I tried taking clones 4 day's ago and not sure how they are coming.... This is what i did, i found a good branch sniped it, thin immediately went in water where i made a 45deg cut and thin dipped in roting hormone really good also put a little in 1" rock-wool. Thin slid in rock-wool "Pre-soaked in thrive alive and 5.5PH water" and trimmed a little and sprayed and placed in dome. They kinda weltered a lil but perked back up. But now they look like they are drooping again, is it because the dome?? Temps are 70-75 and humidity 60-90%. Should i take dome off yet?

preflowers are the pistils that come out of the plant after it shows sex. At all the budding sites is where they will form.

"When" preflowers show, is pretty phenotypical specific, or different pheno's/strains will exhibit preflowers at different time.
Usually 4-6 weeks into veg and/or the fourth or fifth node, but they can take longer, and yes, they remain "little hairs" throughout their pistil life.

I'm about 6 weeks into veg. outdoors with about a month left i think my plant has pre-flowers they are green spikes growing from the stem and branches at the stem, with no hairs at all. One of them is kinda round close to the plant and then forms a spike. Is it too early to tell the sex?

Those are not pre-flowers--the green spikes are just new growth. Pre-flowers are white hair-like growths. Check out Hick's link. It has great pictures.
