I have 7 plants in the 2 square feet floor and 2 feet in the height cupboard, those plants are currently on the vegetative stage but right now are only at like 3 inches with four leaves on the top with two small tiny growing leaves in the middle of four leaves. The two of four leaves are seems mixed yellow and green, but other rest of each plants are pretty green. The light I am using right now is a 20 watts spiral flourscent bulb with the foil papers on the walls, the light are like 2-4 inches close to the top of the plants, but some of the plants might be too far from the light due to the bulb size, also I watering them fairly light every two days.
Before I am going to bring what my problem is, I want to know if any of above that I explained sounds okay? Isn't the height too short? If so, then I can try to remove the ceiling of that cupboard and add other 2 and half feet height from another cupboard at the top of that cupboard where the plants are sitting at.
Now, the problem is that the light. I have been researching alot of things about the lighting for the plants, I have been having hard time to understand what they are saying because they seems too big descriptive, so I decide to go to the Home Depot and ask a worker if he know the better light for the plants indoor, I have been there for 2 hours and working so hard to find which was the right one, the worker even don't know what he is doing so I have to ask everything like how many lumens does it have, how much temperature will it produce, many things I have been asking as best as I can, and finally I decide to buy a mercury vapor and then I brought it to home, thus found out that it is not plug in lamp, it's a ceiling lamp which made me feel so disappoiment, but I am still not sure if the mercury vapor is right one. Also it was surprisely expensive costed me $50 dollars for that mercury lamp. I was looking for the lamp that can do the work for both vegetative and flowering stages, I wonder if two 2 feet flourscent light tubes with the hanging can do enough for that small space? Also I have been checking the temperature, it have been always at 71 with that little 20 watts spiral flourscent lamp, was it okay? I just know that it does need more lights, but the temperature seems doing okay, also when I was at the Home Depot, I read one of floursecent light tube's specs which said that it doesn't produce any temperature which confused me.
Sorry if I post a big post, but I was just make sure it was descriptive as best as I can, also I would be very appericately for your helps. I don't really have enough time to read many of threads around here, also I am new here :)
Hope something will help those plants into a happy healthy plants.
