Do they grow new ones?

Hi Guys

I was just outside and saw this, Do they grow new shells if they have a damaged one?, I never picked this snail up but I had a close look and it seemed like the damaged shell was fused to the normal shell as if it grew a new one, I have no idea if this is what happens, does anyone know if they do or dont?

Hippy are you sure there wasn't another snail in the other shell? Maybe they were getting ready to get their freak on.

snails shells will heal themselves fairly quickly oh and snails are both male and female (lucky buggers ) :peace:
