soil mixes/blends?

i was just curious what some of the dirt growers were using for mixes....i've been having a problem lately with my soil packing down and bogging down my plants....my mix is mainly thunderhead soil, extra worm castings, and extra perlite....it seems the main problem i have is everytime i water the perlite floats to the top....eventually the top is just a layer of perlite with hard packed soil underneath....any ideas/advice to help me increase aeration would be greatly appreciated....

Some may disagree, but I put in some vermiculite too. I find that it helps fluff up the soil well. that and I churn my soil a lot by hand when prepping a pot.

I use Premier ProMix, works great. No extra additives needed which I like, saves a lot of hassle, as I used to mix in extra perlite as well until I found this soil.
