400 W MH Grow

Sorry if this has been addressed, but I can't fid the answer anywhere on the boards. Has anyone done a complete gorw- veg and flower- under only MH bulbs? What were the results?

It can be done with really no noticeable difference. Maybe a small increase in yield if you used a hps during flowering. Maybe a slight increase in potency if you used the mh in flower. I saw a side by side done with clones on another site and the difference was almost nonexistent. Your mh should work fine imo:).

Thanks bombbud- I'm using a 400w MH and I am supplementing with 2- 70 watt hps but those don't put out many lumens so I'm probably just wasting electricity. Because of how big they're getting, I thought I might put in another 400w MH. I have a bunch of fixtures (MH) and bulbs that i already own, so I guess it won't hurt to add more.

They are fine with 400w atm for vegging, add the other 400 when flowering.

howdy bb, my first grow wAs MH only, and i was happy with results...the hps buds were much denser, yield was def. better, but, i dont know if the better buds were from experience, hps, or a little of both. i know the MH bud certainly was high quality and tasted good too so no worries, i think youll get high:D

I'm curious as to this if you have the extra MH equipment why not just get and HPS conversion bulb ( its and HPS bulb for an MH ballast) and then run 400W of each that should really kick you garden in to get me higher gear ;)

Thanks all- Dubbaman- that's the plan, to get a couple of HPS conversion bulbs for my next grow. This is my first grow and I've made a bunch of mistakes, (but they're looking good- 14 days in flower) and I want to get through this so I can do things a little better next time. So before I went out and bought more stuff, I thought I'd get this one hanging and plan out a little better- like how big they're gonna get, bigger pots, etc.- Thanks
