Thats a good question Bro . What strain do you have?
Are you growing in doors? If so what light & ballast do you have?
I am a Newbie but I can find you the information you need or refer you.
Thank KGB

I would say it sounds like you have a female indeed. You should be able to keep it in vegitative state as long as you want or until your ready to flower. The two pistols that you see are the plants first indication of gender, and the sign that they are sexualy mature enough to flower or breed now if chosen. You should be okay come the stretch phase in flowering considering your growing afghan which i think is a pure indica or pretty close. Indica's dont strech much in flower so generaly you can veg to 2 an 1/2ft. and end up at the end of flower at 3 and 1/2ft. Indica's are great plants for growing indoors for this trait, the trick is now on finding the best yeilding, best resin and trichome production, with best flavor and bag appeal and then you will have the ultimate garden!! Keep us posted and get some pics up here!!!

Thanks for the replies guys. Ill keep it under veg until my other plants(Kush & SkunkXhaze) are ready to flower, which may be another 7 weeks. The afghans have matured early, given tat theyre about 6-7 weeks old.
Roken, my afghans are probably a foot at the tallest. They wont herm on me or anything if i keep them nder beg state for too l ng will they?
I will post pics of them in this thread when theyre flowering but one can alwys check my grow journal:ignore:

Preflowering is nothing more than a way of determining sex. Actually if you preflowered your plant then put it back into veg then back into flower again that would increase the chances of hermi. Putting a plant directly into flower will do no harm to it.
Keeping a plant under veg state will do no harm and cause 0 stress to the plant. I have a clone that I turned into a mother that came from another mother that has been in veg now for over 5 years. According to him he has NEVER had a hermie from this plant and he has put these things through hell some years.

No prob. I might as well tell you guys all the stuff I'm learning from these old hippies. For some reason he took a shining to me and my girlfriend and decided to trust us and show us that he grows and then I told him that I had a small grow and now we share strains and what not. He's taught me a lot to.

It's a good advice posted on this thread for you Afghan, Tater's advice is golden and right on track!. You should have no poblems keeping it in veg until your ready to flower, I have done this for over 5 years without no problems. The only problem you would have would be in height, you really want to have an even canopy when flowering, this utilizes all the light evenly thru-out your bloom room. This enshure's every plant gets the same amount of light without 1 plant that may be taller, that just hog's most the energy and lumens. Keep up the good work man, cant wait for you to post some pics!!! Peace and Love!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thnx Tater her are some pics. The afghans have been extremely stressed from over nuting ( typical nub mistake). But theyre getting better not growing very fast though. Hmm cant upload the same pics twice but feel free to check them out in my first grow link.
