ok first off i have absolutely nada experience with growing marijuana, but i want to. so by my Uni there is a random plant (think its a male) and me and my friends keep looking at how fast it grows. but we are worried some freak may come and just take it or **** it up so we are thinking of taking it home and taking care of it. now im not exactly sure how long it still needs to grow and how to get the most out of it. im also posting a pic:

o.k. you cant tell either way from the pic. how old is your plant? inside or outside? most of the time the plants will preflower on the fourth or fith node s. it will start to preflower probaly 3-4 weeks maybe sooner or later but check the nodes first and work your way out to each branch ...

If that bad girl was outside growing then it is way way to soon to tell if it is male or not. From the looks of the pic that plant is still in the veg. stage. You won't tell if it is male or female for a good while yet. When it does start to tell its secrets you want to look for multiple little bulbs shooting out where the branches split from the main stalk and where the branches start to Y out. If it has a couple of little protrusions with two tiny hairs coming out at either end you have a female. If you have multiple little pods in that area you have a male. If you see both you have a hermi. Males bad. Hermies bad. Females good.

well things just got ruined, someone stole the plant... meh, i will get some seeds and plant. i live in an apartment on the 5th story so im planning on having a plant on the balcony. are there different types of seeds? which ones are best to get?

hey apple i would go with a kush or white widow for your first attempt. theyre are fun, easy, and they both smoke like a champ!! GL and keep us posted.

are you sure it wasn`t plantic it is in a plantic enviroment it looks like. If a lot of people found out about it sure it is gone. Loose lips sink ships. For your first attempt i would just get some bag seeds. Good luck slim.
