Being a cigarette smoker I feel kind of weird saying this but with all the smoking bans and now insurance compainies are trying test for cigarettes like its bud and knowing that smoking tobacco causes hundrends of thousands of deaths a year or day or whatever it is, I think they should either make tobacco illegal or stop telling us where and how we can smoke. Just doesnt seem fair. That will never happen becuase the cigarette companies are too powerful and the government makes too much money off of its taxes.
Anyways, what do yall think would happen if tobacco was made illegal?

up in san francisco you get more dirty looks/comments walking down the street with a cig than you do with a doob. i agree about the tax thing. gov would lose too much money.

I pay about $5 here and I dont listen to the studies...

you will always find what you are looking for when you put your focused attention on something.

have they ever done a study of people who smoked and lived a long healthy and happy life?

most of the people I have ever known who died of lung cancer never had a ciggy in their life! they didnt live with smokers.. how did they get it? I have known of about 6 personally who had died of this expereince.

so I dont buy into the ** of anyones so called "research" or "studies" it's the beliefs of others and I personally have chose not to listen.

it's all about choices!

I will quit smoking when I no longer enjoy it. thats the bottom line for me.

I have smoked on and off for over 30 years. I did not smoke when I was having my son's. It made me very sic. smoking and greasy food. sic so I didnt smoke for over 10 years.

Well, I know this has nothing to do with cigarettes but I was talking to my Friend today regarding Marijuana and why it is illegal in the UK, I have come to the conclusion that the government couldn't control it and who was growing it, so they would lose out on alot of taxes, so they thought if we can't make money on it no one else will so they made it illegal!

Last thing, I have also heard a rumour that you will soon need a license to smoke in the UK, the license would cost around £10 - £15 a year, if you get cought smoking without your license or if you don't have one you will be fined!

the way they see it they win on both ends, they profit from lobbiests who pad the pockets of the people in congress to keep it legal. then they get paid sales taxes buy the consumer. they don't care what you do with them once you buy them untill they can make a profit from it..

everyones happy, government gets paid by the lobbiests and tax payers, then they ban smoking in public, people get sick of it and wanna quit so they go to the doctor because now they sell pills to help you. so then the drug pushers (pharmacutical companys) get to sell some new wonder drug cooked in a lab somewhere. the government get paid by lobbiests to approve the new drug. is all about money.. not the well being of the people that consume the products. Here is a way to make your own scientific discoveries at home. Go home and smoke an entire pack back to back to back until every last square is gone. Smoke one after another with no break. Document how you feel both mentally and physically before, during, and after. The next day after that smoke an entire quarter and document how you feel both physically and mentally before, during, and after. Lets see if you can come to any conclusions with those tests.

Anyone can get cancer from just about anything. Saying that so and so got lung cancer and they never smoked so smoking isn't bad for you is naive. Just because they didn't smoke, or they didn't live with smokers doesn't mean that at some time in their life carcinogens didn't make their way into their lungs. Ever go to the gas station or a car garage? Ever stand behind a car that is running and breath?

The beauty of it all is that you get to choose what you do, so. . .
Smoke, smoke, smoke that cigarette Puff, puff, puff until you smoke yourself to death.
Tell St. Peter at the Golden Gate That you hate to make him wait, But you just gotta have another cigarette.

If cigarettes were actually just tobacco I don't think there would be that big of an issue with them, but since cigarettes have more chemicals added to them than hardcore drugs like meth and crack I can see where the problem is coming from.

It is simple, you'll increase prices of tobacco to 50$ for 1 gram. There will be tobacco cup every year and we may even have tobacco grow forums...

As hookah lover and smoker, I accept the fact that tobacco is dangerous. You can even use tobacco to extract deadly poison (similar to extracting THC).

In any case, it is a widely used drug, it has dangers but making it illegal just corrupts society. Didn't they learned the lesson from the alcohol prohibition? I guess not, Cannabis is still illegal...

Hearing my dad cough, hearing him try to catch his breath, knowing he almost burned his self up before he quit a few months ago (dropping the butt when he fell asleep, burned a whole in the oxygen he uses to breath).., These things are real for me, he still puffs up when he can find someone to give him a smoke, he is 83.. a dayum long life, and only the last year he has gotten real bad...but now, he can hardly go down the steps to get out of his house.

it is all about choices....
People should be free to make them, bad or good, government should stay out of it.
