I am planning on making a subwoofer box that is like 20x20x20. It will have a secret door in the back for the access with a plant or two inside of it... I will be doing LST probably. Would a few cfl bulbs in there be ok or would i need HPS? I like the cfl because it will be more stealth to not have a ballast sitting right there. I guess i could pass it off as the subs amp, lol... Also, in that kind of space could i get more yield from one plant growing to fill the whole area or two plants that each get half? I know this has a lot of variables but if they are anywhere near the same i think it may be better to just use 2 so if one dies i don't loose everything. I was thinking of maybe two low ryders or something that won't get huge. What strain should i look at to get a lot of high quality hash from also? Will WW do good or is there anything better?

It seems a little short for growing and HPS in that space is a fine way to make an oven, cooks plants in matter of minutes, fool proof! Don't forget the ventilation.

i would use cfls in that small of a space. use a couple of computer fans for air flow. paint the inside of the box flat white. also i would try a few bagseeds to start with and do 12/12 from seed. hope this helps good luck

The plants could probably get about 3' tall in there if i tie them down.... Do HPS lights get a lot hotter than cfl?

cfl's or LED's or 18" florescents are your only options for a box that small... you also have to keep in mind that with an HPS or MH type light, you need a minimum clearance between the plant and the light....

do cfl's always streach a plant or is that just if you don't have enough?

any type of light can stretch plants if theyre not placed properly.

im using cfls right now with no stretching, they can be within inches of the plants and they dont get very hot.

the thing about cfls is you can put them an inch away from plant. if you have enough cfls and you keep them close they do good. heres a link to a plant i grew with cfls on a 12/12 from seed. what you see is the whole plant cut off at the ground.

I could definately live with that kind of a bud. What strain was that?

Dang, thats pretty cool. What was the dry weight of it? If i could get a few oz of some WW or something then i would be set...
