400 Watt lamp and Watering

how far away should a 400 watt lamp/light be from sprouting seeds?

also i've heard two different things about watering, one is get a bucket of tap water, let sit for 24 hours, test pH.

then i heard you aren't supposed to use tap water at all because of some of the minerals in it, also the pH variances (but testing it and making up the difference with Calcium or White distilled vinegar would fix that part). but is this true that you're not supposed to use tap water?

what do you guys do?

My light is about 2 feet away from my seedlings now but I will inch it down to about a foot. I use straight tap water but plan on improving this.

ok, how do you plan on improving it? like would bottled water be ideal? i mean mj plants dont have to be watered that often so it wouldn't cost too much to do bottled water. also how much are you supposed to give your plants, like ml of water?

Distilled water is the best thing for them. I buy it at Wal-Mart for like 78 cents a gallon. Tap water has too much calcium and other stuff for the MJ.
