fan for grow room what to use

i have a room that is 8.5'H 5'W 7'L what should i use for vent fan not to much cash to spend. i HAVE one 400MH and am going to drop three or four 250MH down below tops.and should i use the same type fan for fresh air intake

read up some more my frend you need more lights...min.3000 lume square foot..but 5000 best..or more I use a 9" round asculating fan in both Veg and flower room...but the best addvice I can give is read up some more..Good Luck and KEEP M GREEN

i can only do six plants to keep it legal do i still need more light? This room is only for flowering i have a small bedroom also with as much light as i can fit. So what type and size of fan should i need for the room?

Well you have 300 cubic feet of room there so now you need to ask yourself. Do i want to run my fans 24/7 or do i want to be able to remove all the air from my room and totally exchange it in 5 minutes or less. (The second one is the one I would suggest.) Now you need to find a fan that can move that much air. All fans come with CFM ratings on it.

hey bk527....you have a 400 all ready..might I say buy a 600 to compliment the one you have..are plannng on flowering in the same room?..HD for veg and HPS for flower.so mayB you want a 600 conversion..how about some photos of your setup?..Good Luck KEEP M GREEN

I built a veg box that is 50"H 30"D 50"W. I have two 250W MH with two 48" four bulb fixtures for side lights and thats not added in to my square footage of the room. I like the second idea for a fan that you gave me better. So what CFM do i need exactly? The reason I wanted to go with the 250W MH hanging below the tops of my plants is because i can get them for 25 dollars each and dont have too much money to spend. Thanks for all the help. Peace

sounds great..25 buck..jump on it...your veg box could prob..use cpu fans..look n paper for free unwanted puters..when purchaseng a cfm fan...look to see that you are gettng a 300 cfm that is the sze of area for your flower room..you can find these at local Hardware or indoor gardens (hydro) shops..Hope this helps

for 6 small plants, your room is large enuf, you wont need to use it all. remember, any part of your plants not withn about 20 inches of the 400w lamp will not be getting the lux benefit. the 250w need to be even closer, like 10-15inches max to deliver any usable lux
as for the air circulation, you want to get a fan that will exhaust the whole room in a minute or 2 5x7x9 is 315 cubic feet and a 300cfm fan should do the trick fairly well. my room is of similar size[8x8x4] and I use 2 fans [1-intake 1-exhaust] both 265cfm constantly running. ;) :hubba:
