good afternoon everyone. has anyone every used peat pots. are they any good or what ?:rolleyes:

I have used them on plants that were going outside after the last hard frost of the year. It was easy to just plant them in the holes I had pre dug and filled with a soil mix. No containers to lug out of your patch, and the roots just break the peat down and grow right through.

they sound ok then . good job. cause thats what my little babies are in . im gonna be putting them in there new 3 gallon pots tonight. under the 400watt light. lights on for 18hrs off for 6. i aint got much ventulation. my grow room is about 5ft by 4ft. im gonna be using lots of osculating fans to blow air in and around room. ive only got two plants and ill be leaving the door open when lights are on. im a bit worried about when lights are off and door is shut. what ya think ?

The lights are going to be your heat problem. If the lights are off I see no reason to have the door open, especially if you are flowering them. You do not want any stray light getting to them while they sleep. It will stress the plant out and you will probably end up with hermies.

I have personally tried them all...Peat Pots, Rockwool, Rapid Rooters and IMO they all do what their intended to do if used properly. Peat Pots work fine.


Your two plants should be fine in the closet with the door shut and the light is OFF as long as you have some fans like you said. Just watch the temps and keep them below 85-80 and you should be fine.

i used them in muy outdoor grows and they were great, wasnt very happy for the indoors since whenever you water them they become soggy and tend to break apart if handled frequently. :aok:

I've used the little expandable peat pots for all kinds of plants as well as MJ with great success. Once your ready to transplant you need only bury the whole pot and never disturb the roots at all. Very handy IMHO.:)

By the way, if you use the little peat pots that look like little flower pots you WILL have to let them dry out a little before trying to handle them. They WILL break apart in your fingers if they are too wet. Good luck!:D
