store it in your ph7 solution that you got. Just make sure to keep the end of the probe moist at all times or it will go kaput.

I use a nutridip tri meter, it does PH, Temp, and EC (ppm). Cost me about 220 bucks but its a continuous meter and I highly suggest them. Anyways on to the task at hand, my ph probe comes with a rubber cap, I just fill that with my ph4 (I'm a hydro guy so I use ph4 to calibrate my meter) and then push it onto the end of the probe till a little bit squirts out the sides. If your's has a cap do the same and I found storing the meter upright stops possible leaks from the cap and keeps air bubbles away from the probe.

yeah, mine has the cap.thanks alot.i would have let it dry up for sure.not used to these new fangled things.especially that cost so much.i figured if i was gonna do this, might as well do it first class.i'm a firm believer in,YOU GET WHAT YOU MPAY FOR. THANKS FOR THE INFO AND GOOD LUCK ON YOUR GROW.this one is from milwaukee instruments.paid only 160

I bought my ph meter back in like 03 or 04; it ended up in a box until earlier this year when I pulled it out for my current grow, and it works fine. It's just one of those cheapish Hanna "Checkers". So obviously they're a little more durable than the manufacturers would lead you to believe. I think as long as you keep the cap on it, you don't have to worry about the probe drying out.

I dropped my probe once from 2 feet or so and it broke. They are much more fragile than some would lead you to believe ;)
