Hello,
This is my first time growing. I Have a little aerogarden(7 plants max) and I've just put my first seeds down. Is there anyone more experienced who might be able shed some light on aeroponics. What are the advantages as well as the disadvantages. Is there anything special that I need to do or keep my eye out for during the growing process.
I am open to any experience and suggestions anyone might have.

I have grown wick, drip, and flood/drain systems. I recently got an aero kit. Best money I ever spent. The growth rate blows all the other systems out of the water. Only problem I have now is the roots in each tray have grown into a wooven carpet and there is no getting them out till they finish. Just keep your eye on the drains and keep the res clean. I haven't had any fungi, mold, or algae yet(knock on wood). You will be impressed with the results if you just read the directions on how to properly care for the machine and get some good nutes, don't cheap out there. My plants can suck up 300 ppms of nutes a day in a 20 gallon res they aeroponics just make it so easy for the plants to absorb them. I find my self adding nutes more often then water. Check out my journal and you can see my first aero grow, the plants were started the 1st of July from seed and are already 12-15 inches and bushy as hell.

Advanced Nutrients is what I am using. Sensi 2 part grow and then I am going to Sensi 2 part Bloom. I ordered some advanced Cal MG from htgsupply. I think my plants may have a deficiency. So be sure to order it when you order your other nutes so you have it on hand and don't have to wait like I am. Oh and voodoo juice is good stuff to use for the first two weeks. It is an additive to your normal nute regimen that adds beneficial bacteria to the root system. Strong healthy roots equal strong healthy plants. I may go to Advanced 3 part system later on but I figured 2 part is the best way to start out when doing a new system.

I lack the ability to order anything online, unfortunately. Is there any comparable nutes i can get from a nursery or flower shop?

Do you mean the commercial "aerogarden" system? I believe the only nutes they can actually use are the ones you buy from them in the tablet form. Thats what the guy at my local hydroshop told me. I grow in a homemade aerospring, and use the Dutch Master Nute series, works great!

Go to their website and you can enter your zip to find your local suppliers.

How can you "lack the ability to order anything online"?
You are going to be better off if you use nutes that are "tried and true" for growing mj hydroponically. General Hydroponics series, Advanced Nutrients, and Ionic are some of the favorites here.

Thanks for the suggestion BuddyLov. But I was unable to find Sensi's website. I did find plenty of online retailers who sold it. But, as I mentioned earlier, I really do lack the ability to purchase items online. I read up on Sensi Grow and Sensi Bloom and they look like great nutrient products. I will keep my eye out for them. hopefullyI still have a little window, my seedlings are only three days and their already throwing of leaf sets.
To the other posters of this thread: Could you possibly give specific brand names of the nutes you use?
I am sorry Hemp Goddess but I don't understand why you are asking me that question
